Job Description

This position is part of a growing Data Science area in Flat that builds and refines Data Science and Analytics tools and techniques. As a Sr. Data Engineer, you will shape the future of what data-driven organizations look like. You will lead the development of our data warehouse and data pipelines architecture to make sure that it matches the needs of the business and fosters innovation.

Responsibilities 

o   Build the infrastructure required for automated optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using Python, SQL and AWS tools.

o   Expand and optimize our data warehousing and data pipeline architecture.

o   Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.

o   Design, implement, and support a platform providing secured access to large datasets.

o   Understand the data sources, develop an ETL strategy, perform data modeling to meet customers’ data needs.

o   Build analytics tools and provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.

o   Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, data security, analysis, validation, and documentation.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in a data engineering role. They should also have experience using the following software/tools:

o   Strong experience in data engineering , ETL development, and Data Warehousing.

o   Strong experience with data modeling, SQL, writing, debugging and performance tuning.

o   Experience with Redshift, Python, Apache Airflow

o   Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases

o   Experience building data management tools on AWS.

o   Experience with DevOps tools (GitHub)

o   Experience with Container technologies (Docker)

Nice to have

Experience using Luigi, Airflow or Apache NiFi

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Creative thinking and exceptional problem solving skills

Previous experience in the PropTech ecosystem
